Our friends at Cate Farm in Vermont supply us with the most gorgeous certified organic Burdock Roots that we have ever seen. We tincture them fresh in organic alcohol as soon as they arrive to Avena. Burdock is traditionally known to improve liver and kidney function, ease chronic lymphatic swellings, relieve constipation, normalize healthy bowel flora and stabilize blood sugar fluctuations. *

Avena’s organic Biodynamic® gardens produce 70% of the herbs used in our products. We apply organic compost and Biodynamic® preparations to nourish the soil and hand harvest our herbs following seasonal cycles. Some herbs are respectfully wildcrafted or organically grown by others who share our philosophy of care and respect for our Mother Earth. Each herb is mixed with spring water and organic pure grain alcohol to ensure the full range of plant constituents is extracted.
