Our friends at Cate Farm in Vermont supply us with the most gorgeous certified organic Burdock Roots that we have ever seen. We tincture them fresh in organic alcohol as soon as they arrive to Avena. Each spring, Avena's gardeners transplant two thousand Calendula seedlings, which we start from seed, into our gardens. We collect several hundred pounds of this brilliantly orange flower throughout the summer and early fall. Our hands become sticky from the antiseptic resin Calendula is famous for. Traditionally renowned for its ability to heal cuts, wounds, diaper rash and athletes foot, and to soften scar tissue. Calendula also improves liver function, eases breast tenderness and supports lymphatic drainage.
