The herbs in this formula have traditionally been used to quickly mobilize the immune system, to ward off acute colds, flus and viral infections of the respiratory tract, and to relieve achy feelings that often accompany a cold, flu or fever. We have added both Elder flowers and Elderberry Elixir to enhance this formula's effectiveness.*
Avena’s organic Biodynamic® gardens produce 70% of the herbs used in our products. We apply organic compost and Biodynamic® preparations to nourish the soil and hand harvest our herbs following seasonal cycles. Some herbs are respectfully wildcrafted or organically grown by others who share our philosophy of care and respect for our Mother Earth. Each herb is mixed with spring water and organic pure grain alcohol to ensure the full range of plant constituents is extracted.

Lovely patches of Feverfew plants grow near one of the Hawthorn hedges in Avena's Garden. We hand harvest baskets full of the yellow, daisy like flowers and fragrant lacy leaves and tincture them immediately in organic alcohol. The bitter taste of this herb enhances appetite and digestion and improves liver function. Traditionally used for easing the pain associated with vasodilative migraines, menstrual pain and arthritis. Known to reduce severity and frequency of migraine headaches. *
