Botanical Oils and Botanical Oil Compounds
Avena’s oils are made by infusing our biodynamic herbs in the finest organic olive oil for a two week period before pressing and filtering. Our extended process allows for the healing properties of the herbs to be fully extracted into the oil. As with all of our products, our botanical oils are made by a completely chemically free process.  Their shelf life is two years.

Cremes
Avena’s handcrafted crèmes are of exceptional quality because of the special process we created to carefully blend our organic botanical oils with organic coconut oil, pure rosewater and beeswax. Our crèmes are made in small batches to ensure their freshness and efficacy. Avena’s crèmes contain no preservatives, alcohol, or glycerin, making them one of the purest crèmes available anywhere.  Their shelf life is one and half years.

Elixirs
We have created our own unique way of producing herbal elixirs using pure vegetable glycerin and a small amount of organic grain alcohol as the base. The shelf life of our delicious tasting elixirs with less than 30% alcohol is two and a half years and with more than 30% alcohol is 5-6 years.

Glycerites
Our herbal glycerites are made in a base of pure certified kosher vegetable glycerin, using the same careful procedure as used with our whole plant extracts. Alcohol and chemicals are not used in this extraction process. We recommend glycerites be stored in a cool place or in the refrigerator once opened. Their shelf life is two and a half years.

Glycerite Compounds
Our glycerite compounds are special blends made to the same exacting standards as our single herbal glycerites, and are renowned for their flavor and efficacy.

Liquid Whole Plant Extracts
We offer 80 single whole plant extracts in a base of organic alcohol and mountain spring water. Our individually tailored extraction process acknowledges the unique attributes of each herb and contributes to their exceptional quality. Over 70% of the herbs used in our extracts are grown in our certified biodynamic gardens or hand-harvested in nearby fields and islands by our experienced herbalists and gardeners. Extracts preserve and concentrate an herb’s potency for 5-6 years and never need refrigeration. Avena’s whole plant extracts are widely known for their distinctive quality and vitality.

Liquid Extract Compounds
Our liquid extract compounds are special blends made to the same exacting standards as our single liquid extracts, and are renowned for their vitality and efficacy.

Powders
We purchase only the freshest and highest quality organic and wild-crafted herbs for our individual and blended powders. Our blended powders are made in small batches throughout the year to ensure freshness. Store in a cool cupboard. The shelf life of herbal powders is one and a half years.

Salves
Avena’s salves are created from our own botanical oils. Beeswax is added to thicken the oil, making a lovely smelling and easy to apply healing salve. The exceptional quality of the organic base oils of our salves along with our time intensive hand-pouring technique is why our salves are of such special quality.  Their shelf life is two and half years.

Solid Extracts
Our solid extracts are alcohol free and contain certified kosher vegetable glycerine and/or honey as a base. The hydroalcoholic extraction of the whole plant is followed by vacuum distillation to remove the alcohol. No chemicals or high temperatures are used in the extraction process. This results in a high-quality product.

Teas
Our teas are incredibly fresh as they are harvested each year from the garden and blended several times per year using the highest quality organic, biodynamic and wild-crafted herbs.  The shelf life of leaf and flower teas is one year and root and bark teas is two years.
