We welcome you to visit our beautiful two-acre medicinal herb gardens, especially in summer. When you enter the garden gate, especially in summer, you will find yourself immersed in a peaceful and magical garden, filled with aromatic herbs and flowers, radiant hummingbirds, colorful butterflies and playful fairies. Meandering stone paths, meditation benches and handcrafted arbors, bridges and gates add to the colors and textures of our thoughtfully designed garden. Over 125 common and unusual medicinal herbs grow in Avena's garden. Intermingled with the herbs are a variety of flowering trees and annual and perennial flowers that feed the pollinators. A garden map is available at the garden entrance for visitors to use while touring the garden. A booklet entitled A Plant Guide to Avena Botanicals' Medicinal Herb Garden is also available at the garden entrance for visitors to use and/or purchase. This 25-page booklet contains botanical information and medicinal uses of the plants growing in Avena's garden.
Avena Botanicals Herbal Apothecary is adjacent to the medicinal herb gardens. Visitors may purchase herbal remedies in our shop after touring the gardens. You are welcome to read about our herbal products from our catalog or from our informational booklet entitled Traditional Uses of Herbal Formulations.
Experiencing the beauty of our gardens is in itself an uplifting experience. Please come visit if you can.
Wherever you are, when you open an Avena Botanicals' bag of tea or bottle of herbal extract, the healing essence of our garden is there for you to receive.
