Burdock Tincture

This deeply grounding herb supports digestion, assimilation, and elimination. Promotes healthy skin and vibrancy of liver and lymphatic function.*

Botanical Name: Arctium lappa.

Part Used: Fresh root.

About Burdock Tincture: Burdock has a strong taproot that grows straight down into the soil with confidence and offers us this same sense of grounding and strength. In Japan, and in other parts of the world, Burdock is enjoyed as a traditional food. The nutritive flavor is sweet, mild, and mildly bitter.

Burdock root is truly dynamic in that it both nourishes and helps clear metabolic waste from the body, and is considered to be alterative. This means that Burdock supports both the elimination pathways of the body by ensuring healthy liver, kidney, bowel, and lymphatic function, in addition to encouraging strong digestion and assimilation of nutrients. Burdock root nourishes and feeds the beneficial gut flora in the digestive tract and acts as a mild bitter tonic. As a result, this incredible and humble herb promotes healthy, clear skin. Burdock is very supportive during seasonal transitions, especially in fall and spring, and during life transitions such as postpartum, menopause, changing jobs, when moving or traveling, or when life situations unground you.

Garden Notes: Harvested in the fall of the plant's first year.

Taste / Energetics: sweet, mildly bitter, earthy, grounding, clearing, nutritive, soothing.

When to reach for it: As a way to ground, center, and connect with self and others. As part of a skincare routine. For daily digestive support. To enhance an intentional seasonal transition diet. As a tonic to support general strength, vitality, and energy. Daily to support a healthy lymphatic system.
